Frequently asked questions

Consult our frequently asked questions for information on orders, products, payments, shipment. If your question remains unsolved, you may always contact us.

Orders

You can add products to your cart while you’re browsing through the webshop. You can continue to the next step as soon as you’ve gathered everything you needed. You’ll be asked to provide invoicing and shipment details. In the next step you can choose the payment method and you’ll be redirected to a secured page (you’ll see https in the address bar) where you can complete the payment. We’ll confirm that we’ve well received your order and we’ll also let you know when the goods have been collected by our logistic partner DPD. You’ll get a tracking code so that you can check the whereabouts of the package at any time.

You can see the actual stock status in the product detail page. Our physical stock is synced every hour, so it’s safe to expect a reliable and up-to-date stock status. We do our very best to keep the 15.000 most requested items in a well buffered stock at all time. Lead delivery times can off course vary when we’ve just had to process a big order or when our supplier’s stock is low. You’ll see our best estimate of the time it typically takes for us to get the product ready for shipment. We’ll send off the package as soon as every part is available for shipment.

We have over 3.000 motorcycle models in our database, but there’s always a chance that an older or rare model didn’t make it into the list. Still, there’s a good chance that we can help you out. Just contact us and we’ll be glad to check whether we can provide the parts you need.

We’ll be happy to check that, just contact us and we’ll get right to it.

Sure! As long as the order hasn’t been shipped, we can add whatever you need. We handle each request separately to find the best approach, and we’re open for your suggestions. Just contact us if you want to get in touch about this. We’ll contact you too if we’re not sure what you’d like best.

We follow the European directive regarding distance selling. That implies that if you’re a consumer based in the EU, you have the right to withdraw your order. If you wish to use that right, just let us know at latest on the 14th day following the delivery of the goods. You can then send back the goods (at your own expense, as suggested by the EU) and we’ll refund your money at latest 14 days after your notification. Obviously, we’ll need the goods back before we can process the refund. If you paid a fee for the shipment, we’ll refund those costs, too. The EU suggests that there will be no refund for the surcharge in case you chose a non-standard shipping method (e.g. Saturday delivery or an express delivery). As long as we get the goods back in mint condition, we’ll give you a full refund (unmistakably brand new goods which haven’t been installed, in the original, undamaged packaging). Attention, this withdrawal right is not valid for tailor-made goods, such as shocks made for your specific weight/length/riding style, or other than standard brake hoses (for which you’ve chosen specific colors, a different length or different connections).

Payments

We’ve chosen the most popular payment methods, such as credit cards and PayPal and some country-specific options (Bancontact/Mister Cash in Belgium, iDEAL in the Netherlands, …). You can select your most convenient payment method as soon as you’ve entered your address.

We can only speak for our own site, but payments via the Bike Design website are 100% safe. You’ll always be redirected to a secured website (you’ll see https in the address) on an SSL protected server.

Shipments

If everything you’ve ordered is in stock, we’ll ship the same day (providing you’ve ordered before 2PM Brussels time). If you’re in Belgium, the Netherlands or Luxemburg, DPD will treat the shipment as a next day delivery (Monday through Friday). Over 98% of all our Benelux shipments are indeed delivered next day (we follow up on the statistics). If you’re in an other EU country, you’ll usually have to add an extra day, maybe two. The lead delivery time indicated below the stock status takes that delay into account.

No problem, we’ll just have to calculate the shipping fee. It all depends on the weight of your package and the country you’d like us to ship it to. Contact us and tell us what you’d need and where you’d need it. We’ll get you a personalized offer.

You can get your package at a Bike Design service point (if you’re in Belgium, The Netherlands or Luxemburg), at any address you like (home, at work, at your neighbors) or you can pick it up in a DPD point (EU countries).

Securely packed and delivered via DPD by van. Thanks to your DPD Predict, you can even track your parcel in real time with Google Maps.

If the pick-up request hasn’t been sent through to DPD (something we typically do around 3 PM Brussels time), we can still change all that. If the pick-up request has been made, there’s nothing we can do, but you can! You’ll have gotten a tracking link, which allows you to make changes up until midnight (other address, other delivery date, indicate a safe place where the driver can leave the package, and a few more options). You can change that after midnight too, but that may cause a delay of an extra day.

Warranty/return

It all depends on the situation:

- Would you like to make use of your withdrawal right? As long as we get the goods back in mint condition, we’ll give you a full refund (unmistakably brand new goods which haven’t been installed, in the original, undamaged packing). Attention, this withdrawal right is not valid for good which are tailor-made (such as shocks made for your specific weight/length/riding style, or other than standard brake hoses (for which you’ve chosen specific colors, a different length or different connections.

- Is there a technical issue with the product we’ve supplied? Contact us and we’ll see which is the most convenient solution.

- Did we make a mistake? Obviously, you can return the product at our expenses. Contact us and we’ll tell you how.

As a consumer, you get a 2 year warranty period on all products we supply. It needn’t be said that there is no warranty in case of normal wear and tear (e.g. brake pads), improper use or bad maintenance (e.g. cleaning chromed parts with an aggressive product). But don’t worry about this too much. We’re motorcyclists, too. We know what should and should not happen when you use our products and we’ll always come to a fair conclusion.

It’s best not to accept the package, but if you’ve already done so, then please provide us with pictures and details ASAP. We’ll find a pragmatic solution.
